Ph.D in law from the Universität Hamburg, Germany, Distinguished Dean of the School of International Law of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, and Vice President of the China Society of Private International Law. Appointed by the State Council as a member of the China delegation, he participated in the negotiation of the "Convention on Choice of Court Agreements" and the "Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgmentsin Civil or Commercial Matters" at the 20th and 22nd Diplomatic Conference of Hague Conference on Private International Law respectively. He has published legal professional treatises in China, Britain, Switzerland and the Netherlands in Chinese, English and German.
