On December 15, the Theory Study Central Group of the CPC Suzhou Committee held a special meeting to earnestly study and implement the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the CPC and the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech during his visit to Jiangsu.

Xu Kunlin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangsu Committee and Secretary of the CPC Suzhou Committee, presided over the meeting and vowed to unswervingly follow the direction set by General Secretary Xi Jinping, take the initiative to shoulder the responsibility of exploring ways for the development of the entire province, and take the lead in realizing socialist modernization. Li Yaping, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Suzhou Committee and Mayor of Suzhou, Zhu Min, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Suzhou Committee, Chen Zhenyi, Director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress of Suzhou, and Zhou Weiqiang, Chairman of the CPPCC Suzhou, attended the study.

Xu Kunlin emphasized that they will do a good job in implementation and actively take the responsibility of exploring ways for the development of the whole province. "We must strive to set an example in boosting reform, innovation and high-quality development, insist on using digital technology to empower economic and social development with innovation as a powerful driving engine, and fully polish the 'Made in Suzhou' brand. We’ll strive to be an example in building a new development pattern serving the country, accelerate the pace to build Suzhou into an important node city in the dual circulation economy relying on its strong manufacturing foundation, relatively complete industrial and supply chains, and powerful innovation system, drive opening-up to a higher level, and actively build iconic pilot brands for opening-up. We’ll take the lead in realizing socialist modernization, and strive to be the first in fields without precedent, such as the establishment of Suzhou International Commercial Tribunal, the first test of digital currency and so on. At the same time, we’ll strive to be better and faster in fields with universal participants, accumulate practical experience in solving common problems of modernization, make every effort to build a high-quality livelihood products and service supply system, pool resources to build Suzhou into an 'entrepreneur's paradise, innovator’s heaven', and strive to blaze a path of modernization toward common prosperity."

Recently, Suzhou International Commercial Tribunal, the first international commercial tribunal approved by the Supreme People's Court to be established in a local court, began operations and struck the first gavel. It was reported by People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, Guangming Daily, CNR International Online, Jiangsu Satellite TV, Jiangsu Economic News, Suzhou Daily, Suzhou Broadcasting System Headquarters and many other mainstream media, and more than 200,000 audience watched the trial live online. Suzhou International Commercial Tribunal will give full play to its platform advantages, establish an international perspective, benchmark world-class peers, strive for a first-class performance and build a brand for foreign-related civil and commercial trials, and offer high-quality and efficient judicial services to achieve opening-up at a higher level.
